Where’s the nearest St Austell Brewery pub?
Just 17 minutes walk into town is the Western Inn, the nearest St Austell Brewery pub serving our personal favourite ale, Tribute. It’s right next door to the Co-Op supermarket. It’s a town pub, for harbour views we would recommend The Pier House at Charlestown, a short car drive away.

The Co-Op is just 15 minutes walk away from Edens Horizon, or a five minute drive. There is also a Tescos and an ASDA just a few minutes away.

Where can I find the best pasty?
Although the closest ones Barnecutt, Niles or Rowes pasties in the town centre, we highly recommend taking the drive to Pearce’s pasties in Mount Charles near Charlestown. Kate and her family have been eating pasties from here for years, arguably the best pasties in Cornwall says Kate’s husband Robert, and you can call and reserve your pasties to ensure you get them straight from the oven, as they are made on the premises.
Which restaurants are nearby?
Frankie & Benny’s proves a popular choice for our guests, as does Water Margin, a Chinese restaurant near Edens Horizon. Charlie’s Boathouse and Wreckers at Charlestown has a wide variety of fish on the menu as well as lovely burgers and chips (we recommend booking as it gets very popular). We’ve also heard the breakfast at Polgooth Inn is brilliant, although we’ve only been there for pints of Tribute and delicious lunches!
Where can I find that infamous Cornish treat, saffron buns?
We highly recommend heading to Rowes in the town centre for saffron buns and other sticky treats! Kate and her family often stock up on buns before heading back home to Oxfordshire.
I want to shop for local produce, where do I go?
Wonderful! There’s a farmers market every Friday in the town centre selling local meat, eggs and vegetables. Lobbs farm shop next to Heligan car park is also great for shopping.
