Autumn Breaks in Cornwall

Autumn Breaks in Cornwall

Edens Horizon is ideal as a comfortable and luxurious holiday home for 12 people is perfect for autumn breaks in Cornwall. St Austell Bay has outstanding cliff and coastal scenery with beaches at Carlyon Bay, Porthpean and Pentewan.

You can have a holiday near the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Wheal Martyn, St Austell Brewery and Roseland Observatory. Not only is there plenty to do in the local area but the house is equally equipped and cosy for staying in and snuggling up on cold days with good food, board games and a bottle of wine.

Within easy reach of St Austell are also the old fishing ports of Fowey, Charlestown and Mevagissey which are popular film and TV locations and have good bathing beaches.

Charlestown Harbour

Don’t forget St Austell has excellent transport links (main train line from Paddington), Newquay Airport is just 18 miles away for those flying down from the city.

The market town of St Austell has an interesting combination of small local shops and well known high street stores. Within the town centre you will find a 5 screen cinema, ten pin bowling alley and a variety of pubs and places to eat. Polkyth recreation centre and swimming pool is a short distance from the town centre, with Poltair tennis courts, children’s playground and football pitch close by.

As more and more people are choosing to stay in England for their holidays the term “staycationing” is the holiday buzzword, and beautiful Cornwall remains one of England’s most popular staycation destinations. For many reasons: it’s beautiful beaches, breath-taking cliff top walks, stunning views, fresh air, delicious local food, cosy pubs and wonderful accommodation. I’ve spoken more about having a fun staycation in Cornwall here.

I now offer a concierge service so I will make sure your shopping delivery is unpacked before you arrive and there will be a delicious cream tea waiting for you when you get to the house. I can help with celebrations of any kind and will order birthday cakes and food for a surprise party, decorate a tree for you, accommodate wedding groups, arrange babysitting and can even organise hot tub hire.

For a walking holiday or short break this winter Eden’s Horizon is offering 3 or 4 night breaks from 5th September 2015 until 12th March 2016 for prices from £835 for up to 12 guests self-catering. Over Christmas or New Year there is a minimum 7 days booking and the price for either of those weeks £2950 per week self catering. Email Kate to enquire about availability.

For a little luxury, you can visit Carlyon Bay Hotel for their sports facilities, or The Cornwall Spa for a day pass at their spa.

Or you can just sit back and cosy up by the fire and drink tea.

I look forward to welcoming you to Edens Horizon –  I will go to any length to make sure you are happy, comfortable and have everything you need. Whatever you do, please do get in touch.

Staycation in Cornwall

Staycation in Cornwall

Have you heard about staycationing? It’s the latest buzzword for having your family holiday in Cornwall, rather than going abroad.
According to Wikipedia:”A staycation is a period in which an individual or family stays home and participates in leisure activities within driving distance, sleeping in their own beds at night. They might make day trips to local tourist sites, swimming venues, or engage in fun activities such as horseback riding, paintball, hiking or visiting museums. Most of the time it involves dining out more frequently than usual.”

What’s more is that the Guardian stated Cornwall as the top spot for staycationing in the UK, the Mirror found Cornwall as number two, and the Telegraph is a big fan too!

This is certainly true if you’re looking for self catering family accommodation in Cornwall where you can come and stay at Edens Horizon with up to 12 guests and 2 babies. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, with panoramic views over the Cornish countryside as you eat your meals together round the dining table, it’s a perfect home away from home. There are lots of delicious restaurants to try including Wreckers at Charlestown, Sams on the Beach and cosy pubs to sample the local Tribute beer from St Austell Brewery. There’s lots of activities including a tour around St Austell Brewery, the Eden Project, Dairyland, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

There are lots of reasons as to why holidays in Cornwall might be more appealing than going abroad: There’s no airport hassle, you don’t need your passport, and there are no luggage allowances!

But on top of that, you can follow Mashable’s top tips on how to enjoy a staycation and adapt them for family holiday in Cornwall:
